Happy St. Patrick’s Day, a little early!! I think we all could use a little green in our lives today, so here is a shamrock free crochet pattern JUST FOR YOU! Since green is one of my favorite colors, I was excited to design this one. This is great for a beginner to practice on some different techniques.

Hook Size: 4.0 mm
Yarn Used: I Love This Yarn! Solids – Dark Olive
Stitches & Terms to Know:
MC – Magic Circle
SC – Single Crochet
Sl St – Slip Stitch
Other Supplies Used:
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
Notes:

- Since round 4 can be a little tricky, please see the photo provided if you are having difficulty.
Instructions for Shamrock Free Crochet Pattern:
To begin, make a Magic Circle (or alternative)
Round 1: 4 sc in MC. Sl st to join. (4)
Round 2: Chain 2. * 4 dc in same stitch. Sl st in same stitch. * Repeat between *s 3 more times. Sl st into the sl st space from the previous round. (16)
Round 3: Chain 2. * Dc in each of the next 4 stitches. Sl st into the same stitch as the 4th dc. Sl st into the sl st space from the previous round. * Repeat between *s 3 more times. (16)
Round 4: Chain 2. * 2 dc in the next stitch. 1 dc in each of the next 2 stitches. 2 dc in the next stitch. Sl st into the same stitch. Sl st into the sl st space in the indent from the previous round. * (As stated above, see photo below for clarification. This is a tricky step as there are two possible slip stitches here. You will skip the first, and sl st into the second.) Repeat between *s 3 more times. (24)

Chain 9. Sl st in 2nd chain from hook and back up the chain. Then, sl st into the base of the shamrock to connect your stem.
Then, finish off and weave in ends.
