It’s recently come to my attention that not all of my followers are aware of the giveaways that Goodreads hosts. They are typically sponsored by the author or publisher of a book, but you can enter them right on the Goodreads website, and this post will show you just how to enter Goodreads giveaways.
First, you need a Goodreads account, if you don’t already have one.
Head to www.goodreads.com to get started!
Besides the giveaways, why should you sign up for Goodreads?
Goodreads is like social media for books. You can friend people and see what they’re reading and how they’ve reviewed it. You can add books you want to read, and books you’re currently reading to keep your friends up-to-date. You can like and comment on peoples’ posts about books. Goodreads has all the inside scoops on the latest books and upcoming releases. Goodreads also has groups, discussion boards, trivia, and quizzes. I haven’t even explored the depths Goodreads has to offer.
Okay, now how to enter Goodreads giveaways.
Once you’re all signed up for your Goodreads account, make sure you’re logged in on a computer, or can easily access the desktop version of the website. It might just be me, but I don’t like doing things on my phone, and I’ve found it a lot easier to find the giveaways on my computer than on my phone. Here are the steps for finding giveaways on Goodreads:
- At the top of the page, click on “Browse”. A dropdown menu will appear.
- From the dropdown menu, click on “Giveaways”.
From there, you can sort through all of the different sections. You can choose whether you want to enter giveaways for print books, e-books, or both. Sort through giveaways that will be ending soon, popular ones, or the most recently listed ones.
On this page, you can also click “Giveaways You’ve Entered” to see if you’re a winner. Goodreads does also send emails out to the winners, but those get easily lost in my inbox.
Once you click to enter a Goodreads giveaway, make sure you read through the terms. Make sure your Amazon email is used for Goodreads so that they can send you e-book links if that’s what you’re entering for. Also be sure that your correct address is in the system if you’re entering for print books.
