Notes
- Head and nose are worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise indicated. When making the blanket, it will not lay flat past round 3.
- Chain 2s are not included in final stitch counts. Thus, the stitch count at the end of the rounds in the blanket portion are dc stitches only.
- Beginning in round 4 and then throughout the blanket, chain 3s at the beginning of the round ARE counted as a double crochet stitch.
- On the scarf, I used a double-strand technique, so you will be working with both red and white at the same time.
Head
With White, make a Magic Circle (MC).
Round 1: 6 sc in MC (6)
Round 2: inc in each stitch around (12)
Round 3: 1 sc in the next stitch. Inc in next stitch. Repeat 5 more times. (18)
Round 4: inc in the next stitch. 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches. Repeat 5 more times. (24)

Round 5: 1 sc in each of the next 3 stitches. Inc in the next stitch. Repeat 5 more times. (30)
Round 6: inc in the next stitch. 1 sc in each of the next 4 stitches. Repeat 5 more times. (36)
Round 7: 1 sc in each of the next 5 stitches. Inc in the next stitch. Repeat 5 more times. (42)
Round 8: inc in the next stitch. 1 sc in each of the next 6 stitches. Repeat 5 more times. (48)
Rounds 9-16: 1 sc in each stitch around (48)
Round 17: 1 sc in each of the next 6 stitches. Inv dec. Repeat 5 more times. (42)
Round 18: 1 sc in each of the next 5 stitches. Inv dec. Repeat 5 more times. (36)
Round 19: 1 sc in each stitch around (36)
Add safety eyes between rows 11 and 12, 7 stitches apart. Begin stuffing.
The information about embroidering the eyebrows and mouth are given below. However, you may find it easier to embroider these on prior to closing the head. If that’s the case, pause closing the head here, and come back after embroidering the eyebrows and mouth, and attaching the nose.
Round 20: 1 sc in each of the next 4 stitches. Inv dec. Repeat 5 more times. (30)
Round 21: 1 sc in each of the next 3 stitches. Inv dec. Repeat 5 more times. (24)
Add more stuffing, if necessary.
Round 22: 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches. Inv dec. Repeat 5 more times. (18)
Round 23: 1 sc in the next stitch. Inv dec. Repeat 5 more times. (12)
Round 24: Inv dec 3 times. Then, fasten off, leaving a tail long enough to finish closing the hole, and to sew the head to the blanket.
I prefer this method because I feel that it leaves a cleaner close. However, if you prefer to inv dec 6 times in this round to close the hole, please do!
Next, weave the tail in and out of the front loops of the stitches, until you can pull the hole tightly closed.

Mouth & Eyebrows
For embroidering the mouth (optional), you can use black thread or black yarn. You can place the mouth wherever you’d like, but for mine, it ranged over rounds 17-18. The center of the mouth is about 3 rows below the bottom of the nose.
For embroidering the eyebrows (also optional, but cute), I angled them over the eyes off to the side a bit. The lower side of the eyebrow started between rounds 10 and 11, and the top side of the eyebrow between rounds 9 and 10.

Sl st into the next 3 stitches to even out the round, then fasten off. Weave ends.
To attach the head to the blanket, use the end tail you left on the head, and sew around right at the bottom of the head, and top of the blanket.
Scarf
To start, chain 6.
Row 1: sc in the 2nd chain from your hook, and in each remaining chain across. Ch 1. Turn. (5)
Row 2-49: In blo, sc in each stitch across. Ch 1. Turn. (5)
Row 50: In blo, sc in each stitch across. (5)
